In 2013 I assisted and animated on a series of web ads for French Insurance comparison company LesFurets.com. The films were produced in Flash by Passion Pictures animators based in both Paris and London. I also submitted some early character designs for lead character Herve while the final 2D style was being developed.
Character Design (pitch)
The designs for the ferret characters in the Flash animated ads needed to be identifiable as their CGI counterparts used in the French TV ads, but simplified and stylised for efficient 2D animation. Although ultimately the final design was much more graphic and geometric than the ideas I submitted, I think I still successfully captured the look and gutsy, suave character of Herve in these early drawings.
